The Grand Spring Debate
The Grand Spring Debate is a traditional debate festival of monks from different Tibetan monasteries of the world, with a history of more than one hundred years. During the time of the debate many other monks who study Buddhist philosophy come together for between fifteen days and a month to study The Treasure of Wisdom on Logic (Tse-ma Rig-gter) by Sakya Pandita, in one location. This great tradition has lost its rhythm over the last few years for some reason. Under the wish of His Holiness the 42nd Sakya Trizin Ratna Vajra Rinpoche, The Great Sakya Monlam Foundation has decided to reorganize this traditional event by funding and taking the advice of many great Sakya scholars.
In the spring of 2018 this grand event will take place in Sakya College in India. This year we are expecting to have around six hundreds monks from different countries to participate in this event. We would greatly appreciate anyone who would like to contribute to the funding of this event.
