Environmental Protection

Environmental Protection

Unlike in the past, in this age, the environment is a cause of grave concern as a result of rampant constructions, industrial development, mining, human greed, never-ending use of raw materials and a slew of needless industrial products in the market. This is a problem that doesn’t solely concerns the humans, but the entire planet and all its inhabitants have a stake in. Therefore, all must work in unison to campaign and do their bits for preservation of the environment. For a start, the Buddhist tenet of “the planet is a consequence of the collective karma of all the living creatures and it belong to all the creatures” must be evoked along with characteristic Buddhist regard for the environment. Care must be taken for these traditional Buddhists notions to be recognized in the world so as to spread awareness about the severity of the problems to the people across the world. The monks must lead a campaign to turn vegetarian and avoid destruction of the environment. They must lead to spearhead campaigns to cleanse the environment. Environmental workshops must be conducted with by the expertise. Debates and awareness drive must be launched in the society.
